FAQ

I - JEWELRY

1. How do I send items for my memorial jewelry ?

You can place the items (ashes, hair, etc.) in a small plastic pouch inside a simple envelope and send them to the following address:

Jamie Coelho Freymann
15 Chemin de la Crabe
31300 Toulouse
FRANCE

The creation of your jewelry will begin as soon as your items are received.

2. What materials do you use ?
I work with 925 silver, fine silver 999, vintage/second-hand porcelain and pottery. For memorial jewelry, I incorporate the personal items you provide, such as ashes, hair, or photographs.

3. What is the small stamp visible on each piece of jewelry ?
Each precious metal jewelry piece bears a maker’s mark, which I personally apply in accordance with the French Customs Guarantee Office requirements. It measures approximately 2 mm and is placed discreetly. The diamond-shaped stamp certifies that the jewelry is made of precious metal.

4. Why doesn't my jewelry have a 925 stamp ?
In France, the 925 stamp has no legal value, any company can place it on their jewelry, but it does not serve as an official guarantee.

The official hallmark certifying that a piece is made of silver is the Minerva head, issued by the Bureau of Guarantees (a full list of hallmarks is available in our Terms and Conditions). This hallmark is only required for jewelry weighing 30 g or more. Most of my pendants weigh less than 30g.

All of my jewelry pieces bear a maker’s mark, ensuring their authenticity and that they are crafted from precious metal.
For reference, my creations are made from 925 silver and 999 fine silver.

5. Can I include other items other than hair or ashes in a memorial piece ?
Yes, I can integrate other personal elements into your memorial jewelry. Feel free to contact me to discuss your project and check its feasibility.

6. Can I place a custom order ?
Absolutely! Contact me so we can create a unique piece together, tailored to your wishes.

7. Do you offer ready-to-wear jewelry?
Yes, I list finished pieces online, ready to wear.

However, many of the pieces are polished porcelain or potery, not yet set in a silver bezel. This allows you to choose the bail you prefer and orient the piece according to your preference, in case you don't like my initial positioning.

8. Why do some jewelry pieces have no back?
For certain ready-to-wear pieces, I choose not to add a silver back.

This allows me to reduce material usage and offer more accessible pieces while maintaining quality and aesthetics. This does not affect the durability of the jewelry.

When worn, the absence of a back is not visible; the piece appears identical to fully set jewelry.

If a piece has no back, it is always clearly indicated in the product description, and a photo of the back is usually included.

9. How do I care for my jewelry?
Each order includes a care guide and small polishing cloths. To preserve your jewelry, avoid water, sweat, and chemical products.

The polishing cloths provided contain a polishing compound. It is recommended to wash your hands with soap and water after use.

II - SHIPPING and REFUNDS

10. What is included in my package?

  • A silver chain accompanies each pendant unless otherwise specified
  • A care guide
  • Two small polishing cloths
  • A kraft jewelry box
  • Recycled cardboard packaging (at least 70%)
  • Wood shreds: bio-sourced, recyclable, biodegradable

11. Can I return or exchange jewelry
Returns and exchanges are not possible, except in the case of a confirmed defect. If this occurs, contact me within 14 days of receiving the item, attaching photos of the jewelry.

You have 14 days from receipt to request a return.

12. Can I get a refund?
Refunds are only possible if the jewelry has a confirmed manufacturing defect. Personalized or custom pieces cannot be returned or exchanged.

13. What should I do if my package is lost or stolen?
I am not responsible for packages after shipping.
In case of loss or theft, please contact your local post office to file a claim.

III - PRICING

14. Why are your prices set this way?
For transparency, I want to explain the costs and realities involved in creating handmade silver jewelry (things I myself did not know before starting my business).

In France, artisan sales are subject to mandatory contributions. URSSAF takes 12.3% of sales for social contributions, plus roughly 1% for the Chamber of Trades and Crafts and training funds. Income tax is then added on top of these.

Raw materials are also costly: silver and gold prices have risen exponentially in recent years. The specialized, durable tools required are also expensive.

Time is another factor. Making a piece typically takes 2.5 to 4 hours, including cutting porcelain, polishing, setting, engraving (if requested), and final polishing.

This doesn’t include other essential but invisible work: photographing jewelry, administrative tasks, preparing and shipping orders, sourcing materials and second-hand porcelain, and developing new creations.

The price reflects all these elements: materials, time, skill, and dedication to offer you a meaningful, durable artisan piece.
