Jewelry care

Caring for your jewelry

Sterling silver 925 is composed of 92.5% pure silver, alloyed with 7.5% other metals , mainly copper (never nickel).

To preserve the shine of your jewelry, avoid contact with water, chlorine, seawater, perfume, and lotions. Wearing your jewelry daily protects against oxidation, but it's best to remove it before sleeping or exercising. When not being worn, store it away from light and humidity. If it comes into contact with sweat or chemicals, gently clean it with warm, soapy water, dry it, and restore its shine with the provided cloth, impregnated with a special polishing compound.

Care instructions

Skin interaction

The small amount of copper can, in some people, cause a slight greenish discoloration of the skin , especially if the jewelry is frequently exposed to water, perspiration, or chemicals. Everyone's skin reacts differently to copper: some people can wear their jewelry constantly without any effect, while others should avoid wearing it in the shower, at the pool, or during sports activities.

The oxidation of your jewelry

The soldered parts contain a silver alloy (860 to 670). This lower silver content can cause faster oxidation (tarnishing) at the joints. To minimize its appearance, use the polishing cloth and gently rub the oxidized areas.

The polishing cloths contain an anti-tarnish agent. It is recommended to wash your hands after use.

Durability

Our silver and porcelain/pottery jewelry is designed to last and become true heirlooms. The silver retains its shine, and the porcelain maintains its beauty over time.
